Ashford Employees Become Certified Lead Renovators

In April 2010 the Environmental Protection Agency passed new regulation concerning remodeling on pre 1978 homes. In order to continue working on homes built prior to 1978 businesses had to register with the EPA and have a Certified Renovator for lead paint available for all projects. Ashford Homes has two employees, Emily Artman and Jeff Drumheller that are registered as Certified Lead Renovators with the EPA.

Ashford Homes is a Registered Home Improvement Contractor

On July 1 the State Attorney General enacted a law that all home improvement contractors had to be registered with the state. The law aims to help consumers find honest contractors and create a pleasant experience for all parties involved. We registered as soon as we found out about the new law and have been using our Home Improvement Contractor Registration Number ever since (PA003030).

Ashford Employee Earns National Designation

Ashford Homes' Emily Artman is now a Certified Green Professional. The designation requires 24 hours of NAHB-approved training, and additional continuing education every two years. Subjects covered in training discuss how green homes provide buyers with lower energy costs and higher value, and will include strategies for incorporating green-building principles into homes without driving up the cost of construction. The designation curriculum requires completion of the Green Building for Building Professionals two-day course and either the Business Management for Building Professionals one-day course or having another current NAHB professional designation. Upon successful completion, that individual is awarded the CGP designation, recognizing a high degree of professional competence. This designation is available to individuals only, and does not apply to companies, nor to specific homes or projects.

Ashford Homes and/or its staff hold the following designations and memberships: Certified Reward Wall System (ICF) Installer, Certified Green Professional (CGP), National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), National Association of Home Builder Remodelers (NAHBR), Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA), Central Susquehanna Builders Association (CSBA), Columbia Montour Chamber of Commerce, Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the International Code Council (ICC).
